Lahti: seminar/workshop "Issues of environmental ecology" and business contacts among experts of Lahti and St Petersburg.
Activity 1.
The study-tour to Lahti was organized on 22-25 April 2008 (29 participants).
The topic of the seminar was "Business opportunities in the fields of health care
and environmental protection in Russia and Finland". The priority issues for discussion
were: "Opportunities of Russian-Finnish cooperation in implementation of projects
of social field" and "Environmental impact on condition of health of Russian and
Finnish population".
Within the framework of the seminar we represented the activity of Regional Association
of Health Care Managers, which unites the heads of the leading medical and pharmaceutical
organizations of St Petersburg and Leningrad region. The issues of Russian-Finnish
cooperation in social field were discussed.
On 24 April 2008 Finnish companies operating in social field were visited (Dila Deacony
Foundataion, Konstan ja Koulu, Suomen Terveystalo).
Activity 2.
The joint forum was held on 24 April 2008 in Lahti (28 participants).
The participants of the forum exchanged experience and revealed problems and
constructive schemes of cooperation of Russian and Finnish universities and
representatives of health care and ecological fields.
Activity 3.
The seminar "Organisation and practice of business and trade among Russian and Finnish
entrepreneurs (foreign-economic issues)" was held on 15-16 May 2008 in St Petersburg
(18 participants).
The participants of the seminar showed special interest to the following topics:
"Business-associations, their role and influence on development of trade and partner relations",
"Functional field and technologies of customs logistics" and "Specific features of international
contacts used in activity of Russian companies".
Activity 4.
The seminar and the workshop "Issues of environmental ecology and business
contacts among experts of Lahti and St Petersburg" were held on 16 June
2008 in Lahti.
On Russian side, the seminar and the workshop were attended by the representatives
of "Centre of Innovative Technologies" from St Petersburg, who established perspective
business-contacts with Finnish companies (for example, with "PP Recycling")
operating in the field of industrial and medical waste processing. The participants
visited wastewater treatment plant of "Lahti Aqua" company, carried out fruitful
discussion with the representatives of the company.
